Our Story Begins at the Summit

From a dreamer's vision to Whistler's premier mountain escape - here's how we carved our path through rock and ice

The Journey Up

Look, we didn't just wake up one day and decide to build a luxury resort. It's been a wild ride, full of setbacks, victories, and way too many cups of coffee.

2012 - The Seed

Sarah Chen stood at Summit Ridge with a thermos and a notebook, sketching what most folks called "impossible." She'd spent years working at various mountain lodges and knew exactly what was missing - a place that actually got what mountain people needed.

2015 - Breaking Ground

After three years of permits, planning, and convincing investors we weren't crazy, we broke ground. Winter hit hard that year, but our crew didn't quit. They couldn't - they'd caught the vision too.

2018 - Opening Day

March 15th, 2018. We opened with just 30 suites and a skeleton crew. That first guest? An elderly couple celebrating their 50th anniversary. The husband said, "This is exactly what we've been looking for." That's when we knew we'd nailed it.

2021 - Expansion & Wellness

Added our full-service spa after countless guests asked for it. Turns out people want to relax after conquering peaks. Who knew? Also brought in Marcus to lead our culinary program - best decision ever.

2025 - Today

We've grown to 85 suites, welcomed guests from 47 countries, and yeah, we've won some awards. But what matters most? The family reunions, the proposals, the healing that happens here. That's the real story.

Sarah Chen, Founder

"I grew up in Vancouver, spending every weekend I could in these mountains. My parents thought I was nuts for leaving a corporate job to chase this dream. But standing here now, watching guests discover what I've always known about these peaks - it's worth every sleepless night and every doubt I ever had."

What We Actually Stand For

Not just words on a website - these are the principles we argue about in staff meetings and lose sleep over

Genuine Hospitality

We're not robots reading from a script - we actually care about your stay

Our team's trained to spot when you need space and when you need help. No forced smiles, no fake enthusiasm - just real people who happen to love what they do.

Mountain Respect

These peaks were here long before us and they'll be here long after

Every decision we make considers the mountain first. If it harms the environment, we don't do it - simple as that. We're guests here too.

Community First

Whistler's our home, not just our business address

We source locally whenever possible, hire from the community, and give back through scholarships and environmental programs. Rising tides lift all boats.

Excellence, Not Perfection

We screw up sometimes, but we always make it right

We're human. Pipes burst, weather changes plans, mistakes happen. What sets us apart is how we handle it - quickly, honestly, and with genuine care.

Continuous Evolution

We're never "done" improving this place

Guest feedback drives real change here. That yoga deck? Guest idea. The hot chocolate bar in the lobby? Another guest suggestion. Keep 'em coming.

Adventure Spirit

Life's too short to play it safe all the time

Whether it's trying that black diamond run or just ordering something new at dinner, we encourage stepping outside comfort zones. Growth happens at the edges.
